Hopefully the past 12 days gave you, if not valuable, at least interesting information. Alot of top coats were tested. Some well known, some not so well known. Perhaps some that might change your normal nail regime. And if nothing else, perhaps your own personal holy grail was validated.
It is important to remember that all individuals have different chemistry and will have varying results with different polishes. What’s a holy grail to one person could be an absolute disaster to another. Even the combinations of base coat and top coat can vary drastically – one of the reasons we had the testers record what base coat they used.
Now that we’ve visited all the top coats individually, let me leave you with comparison charts so you can see all the scores side by side.

If any of what you have read has affected your regime, we’d love to hear your comments.
A special thank to Laeny for helping me compile all the data received from the testers into the pages you saw here over the last several days!
The following top coats were donated by China Glaze: No Chip, Tough Coat, Fast Forward, Rock Hard and Seal & Set Thank you so much Amy!

Do you think there will be a Round 2? I’d love to see how my beloved Oh So Wet stacks up.
And thanks for doing such an awesome experiment! Such a great idea!
Thanks for doing such an important experiment. Funny that no-name companies have the best topcoats!
I’ll definitely be switching up my regime! I never felt Seche Vite was my HG (loss of shine, chipping too easily, darkening lighter polishes), but I also didn’t want to just buy a bunch of no-name top coats all willy nilly. I think I’m going to go for the ones that ranked 1st and 2nd… and if I love the #1 I might buy the big 2.5 size!
Thank you so much for doing this, it saves us all a lot of time, money, and wasted top coats!
Thanks for the wonderful experiment! It really opened my eyes to the other topcoats there are out there in the market. Could you do another experiment in the future, this time with more brand names like OPI, Essie and Orly? Thanks!
Be nice to see some drugstore brands, too.
Interesting experiment and thanks for all the hard work you (and your testers) put into this. I’m an SV user (but not completely happy with it, can I just say tip pull) and was meaning to try Poshe, but I think this study has put paid to that! Unfortunately it looks like Supply Source won’t ship anything flammable outside the US so I’ll have to check out some of the runners up.
Great work! Really interesting and well executed test, very well done! Thank you!
If there sometime in the future will be a follow up… would be very exciting to see how OPIs RapidDry TopCoat would compete!
Late to the party but this was FANTASTIC. Wish we could see it done with base coats too.
Can’t wait to try these new topcoats!
I’m late to the party as well, but I would also love to see another test done with more well known, big brand top coats, like OPI Rapid Dry, Essie, etc. This was so interesting to read though and I am definitely going to try out the Supply Source TC…thanks for doing this!!
