A very good UK friend of mine will often indulge me by helping me acquire European Nail Polish that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to get my hands on – thank goodness! Because these babies are hot! Cetuem is an upscale UK brand with a pretty expansive lineup of over 240 colors. After sending me 214 as a gift, I wanted more. Even after 5 more polishes, I have the feeling that this is not the end of my Cetuem purchasing!
The first three are glitters that were ostensibly full coverage in 3-4 coats. Mostly three, but I had to add another layer on a few nails for touch up purposes. Number 92 was what I’d consider a typical glitter size but 85 and 162′s glitter was almost sand like, it was so small. All three of these glitters are set in a clear base (can you believe it?) and the first coat left me thinking that there was no way I was going to get full coverage. But by coat two, I realized that it wasn’t going to be a problem as the glitter builds up fast.
Number 214 was a robust duochrome. Or perhaps should I say trichrome because it went from brick to brown to gold. This is probably one of the most discernible duochromes I own, each color was so extremely distinct and visible. Number 120 was a bit more sheer than I anticipated, but three coats still did the trick. I am always a sucker for this mossy type green. Number 180 is the mutha of all foils. Highly metallic, super pigmented and, well…. <3! I hope they come out with more of these because they definately nailed this finish.

Everything about these kinda screams “Chanel” at me…did you find the formula similar? I am diggin’ 180 too, gorgeous foil! I think 120 is something very special, but I don’t know WHY I think that. :-0
And who wouldn’t love 214? What do these run?
Elizabeth – It’s rather hard to compare to Chanel with the types of polishes I got. Chanel hasn’t done too many heavy glitters or foils. Based on 120 and 214, they’re fairly comparable. I think it’s the bottle that brings Chanel to mind immediately (black lid is attached to brush, unlike Chanel). They run £9.50 which is just a tad over $15.
Those look awesome!
Must get some of those UK friends, they have the best polishes over there.
On first glance I agree with Elizabeth, it is reminiscent of Chanel. Square bottles and the white font is playing on the Chanel bottles in my mind’s eye. Very intelligent marketing on Cetuen’s part.
With another quick glance they also remind me of Chanel knock off bottles in Chinatown,,, you know “Channel”. LOL.
The shades are very pretty though, 214 is the perfect rose gold.
BC, My favorite are the Goach bags!
I was checking out their web site, they have an amazing assortment of polishes. So many Jellies! I will have to place an order soon, it looks like they ship internationally.
One question though. In your experience, how are the formulas? What brand are the closest to? I hope they are buttery smooth.
I guess that was two questions.
Goach…..LOL and what about Guchi? hee hee
I couldn’t find delivery info on the site. Do they ship to the US?
BC-The Ceteums are nice polishes, but I don’t think “butter” would be an accurate description. I haven’t used too many polishes that warrent that ranking.
I’ve never purchased from the site directly so I can’t speak on their delivery practices.
Holy moly!! Those glitters!! I gotta get me some more of those!
:O
HOT
oh MY…the green and purple are gorgeous!!!
Lovely!! I’m loving these party coloured glitters more and more
OMG OMG OMG I have been lemming these since The Jeebus knows when…. always found them too expensive to just try, no swatches (apart from ONE, 191 or so??) had a 25+ wishlist for them…
so thank you so much for posting these…. I’m afraid Illa is exit, and a big YAY for ‘that you like’….
Holy shizz…this brand is new to me but those glitters…somebody get my smellin’ salts!
