Hard Candies Good Enough to Lick!

But don’t. It’ll still taste like polish.

I stumbled across these beauties the other day at the local Sally’s. I was stopping by to pick up a few polishes for a friend, but once there I ended up getting *cough* a few for myself. When I got to the counter, the clerk looked at me and said, “That’s alot of polishes.” I just nodded with a smile. Then I asked if by chance any of them were on sale. She looked at me like I had just gone from slightly obssessed to criminally insane, “Yes, they’re buy two get one free. You didn’t know that?” Errr…. nope. *whistles dixie* But amongst my pile of goodies were the Nina Ultra Pro Hard Candies collection. Can you blame me for grabbing all these glass flecked gems?

All the swatches here are shown at 3 coats and a top coat. The first coat is very transparent, but that’s not unusual for most polishes. It builds up pretty fast and only Star Fruit and Soursop (what in the devil is a soursop?) have vestiges of a visible nail line(VNL). I wish the blue and green had just a little more pigmentation, but beyond that, I was pretty tickled with these colors.

these are rally pretty – I agree with soursoup & Starfruit needing a little more pigmentation.

Also; your nails are still fab. Nice to see you back

These ARE pretty. I love the Kiwi, it’s just about the right color.
I don’t understand why they name them Hard Candy and then name them after FRUIT???!!??
Soursop is a tropical fruit, I didn’t know either, but the great Google took care of that for me. Now I want to try one!

I wish I would have known how beautiful those were when I was at Sally’s. Wow!

Hahahahaha. I bought the China Glaze Poolside collection (and some other assorted polishes…) yesterday at Sally, and I got the “that’s a lot of polish” bit too!

The past two months I’ve been at Sally’s, I got the same thing from the clerk who checked me out: “That’s a lot of polish!” It was for the China Glaze Up & Away and Orly Sweet collections in March, and the Nina Hard candies collection last month.

*Ahem*, anyway, I tried Soursop and Star Fruit by themselves. Not a good idea — it took FIVE COATS to get both of them to a semi-opaque/semi-sheer state. So now I don’t think I’ll ever wear Soursop alone again. Love all of them on you though.

I have *never* even heard of a soursop let alone seen one. Now I’m curiouser than hell! I’ll have to see if one of my more exotic grocery stores carry this.

I think it’s kinda funny that Sally employees always comment on the size of polish purchases. Personally, if I worked there, there wouldn’t be any polish left for customers. =)

My ladies at Sally always just want to know what color I’m wearing, lol. Then I have to melt a brain cell trying to remember the name. Didn’t see these when I was in last week. I’ll have to give them a call tomorrow and see if they have them. Dragon Berry and Tutti Frutti I must have. I’m still waffling on the Starfruit and the Soursop. I can see the fruit names…think Jolly Rancher.

Glad you’re back. It was awfully lonely in here.

Soursop is a tropical fruit found mostly here, in the caribbean.

I really like pomegranate and tutti frutti!! I like the blue too but am disappointed by its sheerness. I wish I could get anything here.

Blast and damn. They had them all but the two I wanted. I wonder if they’ll get more. I should have asked. D’oh.
