Jolly Ranchers on the Nails?

I was so blinded by the pretty colors, I never even noticed the little sticker on these Revlon bottles that said “scented”. I’ve tried the Anna Sui polishes and came to the conclusion that scented lacquers are just not my thing. It seems that my fingers are near my nose more often than I’d like to admit to. And it generally results in my face being squished up in distaste for most of the time.

So the bad news (for me) was that these fab colors were all scented. I’m sure they all were meant to have individual smells, but they just struck me as a metallic version of Jolly Ranchers. Grasshopper concurs. The good news is that the scent actually settles down after about 4 hours to a mild, non-squishy-face-creating scent.

All the swatches here are shown at 2 coats and a top coat. Surprisingly, the one that I really, really loved was Orange Pop. This is the first time an orange color (or coral as Grasshopper insisted) was ever my top pick – especially when the group included an ocean blue! And although I like all the colors quite a bit, Orange Pop is the only color of this bunch that I’ll endure 4 hours of smelly smelly for.

These are nice colors. I can only find the “older” colors around here. At which store did you find them? I’d love to get the purple and green/blue ones!

Jennifer, I picked them up recently at a Rite-Aid. They were on the “new items” island so I’m assuming these are fairly new colors.

I picked up Ocean Breeze and Beach before I saw your post…I must say that I’m sorry that I didn’t pick up Grape Icy! WOW!

I just found them at Walgreens. I got the Grape Icy (purple one) and Peach Smoothie (warm beige with gold sparkles). And they rang up as buy one get one free (even though the sign was buy one get one half off).

Your photos of Ocean Breeze are so pretty, they remind me of xmas holiday decorations or ribbons. Although in person I wasn’t sure because it looked kind of watery. Hmmm, maybe I’ll go back for Ocean Breeze.

    thanks for swatching these!
