Nars Revisited – Part 2 of 3

These four Nars colors are definitely on the subdued side.

While Versailles was a recent edition to the Nars line, I’m not quite sure when the other 3 came out. As of now, they are not available on the Nars site but you can pick them up fairly easily on eBay.

Versailles is a pale golden-yellow shimmer. Certainly not the “blind your eyes” type of yellows that seem to be surfacing this summer, but a very nice mellow color.

Millenium is a pale silver with gold tones. Although it’s a shimmer, it’s just a tad frosty going on. It’s minimal, but you can see the lines in the swatch.

Candy Darling is the very first Nars color that I not only disliked, but absolutely detested. I know I purposely bought this color (as in, it didn’t come packaged with another color that I wanted), but for the life of me, I can’t remember why. I don’t like the color. I don’t like the jelly finish. I certainly didn’t like the 4 coat uneven and streaky application. And I can’t even begin to imagine why it warrants a name like “Candy Darling”.

Temptation is an extremely light beige-gold shimmer with a slightly pink iridescence. This one is sheer and I sincerely doubt you’ll rid yourself of visible nail line (VNL) regardless of the number of coats you apply.

All swatches, except Candy Darling, were done with three coats.

Candy Darling really reminds me of Illamasqua Load. I’m not sure that’s a positive thing, considering what Load is supposed to look like XD
