I remember a time when Loreal seemed to have several different lines out at one time and all of them contained stunning colors. I’ll not date myself and say when this was, but it’s been awhile. Despite the gorgeous square bottles and the pristine brushes, I’ve not purchased Loreal in about that same time frame because… well… they’ve gotten boring.

However, last week I sauntered into the drugstore to pick up a couple things (besides nail polish, ha!) and was immediately sucked in by these Loreal Summer Siren colors. So bright! So festive! So shimmery! So much so, I even bought the yellow and orange which usually do nothing with my skin tone.

All the colors shown here are three coaters. Not only are they gorgeous individually, with the exception of Yellow Seahorse, they actually look pretty good over black. Of the four, Blue Marine and and Pink Shells are by far my favorite. I even went back to pick up another bottle of Pink Shells as I’m going to be sporting this on my toes quite a bit this summer. Coral Starfish pleasantly surprised me because on closer inspection, has multi color shimmer from gold to green – something that becomes more apparent if you layer over a darker color. The only one that I wasn’t in love with was Yellow Starfish. Althought it was better than alot of yellows I’ve tried, it was still pretty streaky and didn’t self level like the other colors.

I hope Loreal keeps up the visual color feast. One can never have too many square bottles of polish.
