OPI and the Lean, Green, Time Machine

Seriously, we just got done watching Fourth of July fireworks. Since when is the 4th so immediately followed by Halloween? If I’m not mistaken,we still have Labor Day and Columbus Day before we get to Ghoulie Night.

I have just about all of the OPI full sized glow-in-the-dark Halloween colors. And previous to this year, getting them has always been a major feat as they were only available as a “not-for-resale” incentive to retailers buying a high number of the Halloween Mini 4-Packs. It seems that this year, we will be able to acquire the full sized GITD color more readily as it is being sold in a duo pack with Black Shatter.

So how did OPI do this year? Zom-body to Love definately applies better than Boo-berry and Ghostess with the Mostess. With three coats, it has a slightly jelly base with a speckled look, much like Glow-Ink in the Dark. Unlike Glow-Ink in the Dark, I don’t think I’d wear this color without my zombie costume. But it’s still pretty cool.

On to Black Shatter. I have not bought into the Shatter craze. Or the Crackles. Or the Fractures. Or anything else that makes it look like a two year old went to town on my nails. Grasshopper is in vehement disagreement with me. How lucky for her. She is now the proud owner of a Black, Red and White Shatter due to all these duo packages OPI has been coming out with. However, I must admit, this is a pretty interesting combination for Halloween.

I’m coming to a halt on buying more crackle. I love this green :)

Can you comment on the glow in the dark-ness? Did it glow brightly or not so much? Thanks!

Alison, I’d say it’s an average glow. Won’t be able to read in the dark with it, but definitely better than say, the Diamond GITD.

I’ve been avoiding crackle, but ZB2L just needs it!
About the nail line, maybe I’ll try it over white tonight and see how that looks – I can’t stand seeing the whites of my nails either :P
Your swatches are really lovely, by the way!
