I started learning how to play tennis just as the Williams sisters started bringing fireworks to the tennis court. They put a new face on women’s tennis, bringing strength and power to an otherwise colorless sport. Watching them (especially against Hingis) actually made me yell at the TV. Me, the non-sports person.
And if Serena’s athletic poweress wasn’t impressive enough, this (warning, not PG13) was enough to make me bow down in absolute respect. Kudos to a woman who can flaunt her non-mainstream body style with such panache and pride. So I love that a woman I admire has paired up with OPI to create her own polishes.
I was most interested in the base color of most of the Glam Slam duos, not so much the “effect” polish. So Grape… Set… Match… was the object of my desire. It’s a gorgeous purple polish with blue and pink shimmer. Two coats provided complete coverage.
Servin’ Up Sparkle was the “effect” packaged with GSM. This bears a striking resemblance to the Miss Universe’s Crown Me Already. But Servin’ Up Sparkle is a much more anemic, albeit holographic, version of Crown Me Already, making it a more appropos as a top coat. Shown is two coats of Servin’ Up Sparkle.

I love Serena and her polishes. Both are beautiful. But whatever do you mean by “non mainstream body style?”
Monique, mainstream = thin, thin, thin with huge breasts. Serena’s build is powerful and curvaceous. She’s been subjected to a lot of derogatory comments about how her body is too masculine. Which is a bunch of malarkey. She’s beautiful just the way she is.
Ah! Understood. Yes, I have heard thoe comments about Serena, too, and I have to agree with you: ridiculous! She’s fantastic. Thanks for replying to my comment.
