Juicy Vernis sounds like the name of a fruit smoothie bar. “I’ll take a Berry Banana Blast, no whip, please.”
These Lancome polishes are old but you might be able to snag a few like I did when they occasionally pop up on ebay. Like any line that I have totally missed and hasn’t been heavily swatched, I always lament that it probably contained fabulous colors that I would have died to acquire and will never see. I can only dream what Juicy Vernis Kiwi might have looked like. (yes, it’s a sickness)

I believe the Juicy Vernis line was also supposed to be scented. My bottles have either lost the scent or this is the most unoffensive perfumed polish my nose has encountered. Thank goodness. With all the scented products we already use… body wash, soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, perfume, feminine washes (and don’t even get me started here. I’m hoping I live to see the day they come out with a penis wash to compliment all the feminine washes that are on the market to make us women paranoid about being women)… I hardly need to add another olfactory layer on, of all things, my nails. But enough about my nose…
These bottles are darling. The handles are a pain. Being so small and smooth, they’re difficult to maintain a good grip on when polishing. The brushes, however, are divine. All the swatches are shown at two coats.
The first color Dragee (43) is a pale yellow color. While beautiful in the bottle, the end product is not really something to write home about. The yelow tint coupled with a very sheer polish makes for nails that look like they’re suffering from stains. Not the best look. Sirop D’Eau (06) is another story. It’s a delicate blue that even with visible nail line, has enough color to be very decorative.
Fraise (17) will probably the easiest Juicy Vernis polish to find on ebay. Don’t know why this color is so prevalent as it indicates it was either over manufactured or least popular. Regardless, I’m glad I was able to acquire this one as I really like the color. Lizzy Jagger (27) was a hidden treasure find. I think I managed to snag this one from ebay two seconds after it was listed. It’s a beautiful brownish plum with lots of speckled shimmer. Here’s a sideshot, just because I couldn’t help myself.

Fraise is so pretty! I’m always drawn to colors like it. Lizzy Jagger is also a stunner, would be great now that it’s fall!
I actually have that number 17. they are nice polishes. and correct me if my memory does not serve me well, but aren’t these the polishes that you were supposed to be able to just pull of your nail when you’re done wearing them?
It’s supposed to peel off?!? Well, damn! I didn’t even know about that. Will have to attempt that next time. I will confess, that’s usually how half my glitter mani’s are removed. heh.
Whenever the caps give me problems, I put one of those clear silicon ponytail bands around them. I get them at any drugstore where they sell Goody hair products. If you’re not allergic to latex, then any small rubber band will work as well.
Oh, the rubber band idea is brilliant!
My favorite Juicy Vernis was “Lollipop”…no longer available, of course. It was so pretty for pedicures!
