This group of Diors contains one older bottle and three newer bottles with the wider brushes. Now normally, I am less than thrilled with wider brushes. And when I realized Dior had moved to this wider style, my heart kind of fell. When I went to apply the first one of the newer colors, I was horrified at how wide not only the brush was, but also the brush stem. It’s ginormous.
But color me surprised, the application was actually very good. The brush end was rounded, but that in itself wasn’t what made it redeemable. The brush had fantastic splay that contoured beautifully with the base of all my nails. It also meant that I could get extensive coverage on my wider nails by applying more pressure but still being able to paint the pinky nail without getting polish all over my fingers. Typically with wider brushes you trade control for coverage. Not so in this case. I was able to get extremely close to the sides of the nails – an area I have problems with using wide brushes. If I was still in doubt, I did a manicure with the older bottle and realized how much longer it took. Whoever engineered this brush did a bang up job.

Rose Dauphne is a light pink glass flecked. This is definitely a sheer as three coats still leaves you with visible nail line. But quite delicately beautiful, no?
Black Sequins is one of the older polishes that came out when we were being assaulted with black flecked polishes from all angles (as compared to the blue ones that we’re being inundated with now).
Blue Denim was recently released in the Blue Tuxedo collection (sister polish, Tuxedo, can be found here). This was “on-purpose” purchase. What can I say, I love the high end polishes and I love blue. Was I to let a little detail like creme get in the way of acquisition?
Rouge Garconne is a brick red creme. This was not an “on-purpose” purchase. What, you ask, am I doing with it? During my foray through the Dior site, I purchased what I thought were two shimmers. Really, does this look like a creme to you? Imagine my surprise when I opened up the package. I called Dior to return them but then I got lazy and didn’t send them back. Since then, I don’t buy anything from the Dior site based on their swatches.

I really like the blue one. Others are just boring… Love your nails, they look perfect.
I agree. I was ready to hate the new brush, but I surprisingly liked it.
