Dior Flapper Pink and Silver Lake

Dior Flapper Pink came out with a bunch of other Dior colors several months ago when Dior revamped their brushes to the wider width. At first glance, the color is a pretty sedate pink that leans ever so slightly to peach. But if you look closely, you’ll notice the shimmer contains additional pink, lavender and gold sparkle. Quite nice.

Silver Lake is Dior’s latest offering that is only available through their website (don’t waste time ordering as their special edition shades go quickly!). Silver Lake was introduced to celebrate Allure Magazine’s 20th anniversary. Speckled black and dark grey is hardly as unique a color as it was when OPI’s Baby It’s Coal Outside or Chanel’s Noir Ceremic was introduced. And with the market being inundated with this type of vamp color, it’s been harder to impress me with ebony shades.

However, Silver Lake is a doozie. First, it’s a foil. Second, it’s a foil. Third, it’s a… you get the picture. Even with Chanel’s recent and awesome release of Graphite, Silver Lake gives it a run for its money with a darker base and a foil that’s more silver than gold. If you don’t already have a black or dark grey foil (and there aren’t really that many out there), this is a must for your collection.
