I don’t check out the Estee Lauder polishes colors all that much as a) they don’t seem to change all that often and b) it’s usually some version of pink or red. But I was scanning the Nordstrom’s website for any new polishes and something made me check out them out. I was very intrigued to find a bunch of new shades that looked promising.
When I went into Nordstrom to actually look at these colors, I was actually wowed! Multi-color shimmer, dark and edgy shades. Estee Lauder? Do I know you? I took me a while to narrow down my selection to eight colors.

Estee Lauder has come out with what seem to be two new collections at once: Metal Mania and Beyond Black. These four are from the Metal Mania collection. When I started swatching these, they surpassed anything I hoped for. They are extremely shiny, highly reflective and colorful (I increased the size of the mini-swatches to the right just so you can see how many colors these new shades contain). Amazing!
As I moved along with my swatching, it actually became more and more difficult to remove the polish because I liked each color so much. The only thing that kept me from painting the rest of my fingers for a full and final mani, was that I wanted to see what the next color looked like. Estee Lauder definately shook things up with these shades. I haven’t been this excited about a collection in awhile!
Chaos is a slate blue with yellow and blue gold flecks. Nouveau Riche is a gold base with pink and yellow flecks. Explosif is a light greenish-olive base with pink and blue flecks. Fiery Hot is a rust base with pink and yellow flecks.
Each of these colors is shown at three coats. The first coat is very anemic. The second coat will achieve opacity. You’ll be tempted to stop there. But my advice is to go the distance and add a third for a very deeply reflective finish.
The Estee Lauder website currently has these on pre-order, but they are readily available at Nordstrom.

I was just about to rush out to buy these but they aren’t available in Canada yet…Booo!
Taffy – I thought it was odd that they were available at Nordstrom before Estee Lauder…
Beautiful photos! I LOVE these new colors. I saw them at Nordstorm and had to go back and get a few. I noticed while in Target over the weekend that Nicole by OPI’s
$7 “For Gold Times Sake” seems to be an exact dupe of Estee Lauder’s $20 “Explosif”
Omigosh I love these…for the weirdest reason–they remind me of some gelly rolls I used to draw with constantly in the 8th grade. Wow….LOL.
