Laura Mercier has recently re-introduced their polishes in the US starting with Twilight, which was very auspicious. The newer colors were very mainstream consisting of pinks, subsequently followed by a lilac and most recently the Cinema Noir collection that contains brown and beige (we’ll get to those in a later post). Usually, my main complaint [...]

Chanel India is a demure pink with subtle coral leanings – almost a salmon color, no? I normally don’t wear a lot of coral or orange based colors as they simply don’t go with my skin tone. But this one is pink based enough where it’s doable. What I especially like about India is that [...]

I know, I know. I’ve gotten addicted to Korean polishes! Intercolor Pretty Nail Flower polishes are another brand/line acquired from Gmarket. These polishes actually have names, but I think they lost so much in translation, I didn’t bother labelling them with anything other than the number. Seriously, does “Deep Pink Pedstal Familiar” really leave you [...]

Ah, no hurricanes or power outages to deal with this Sunday! All is good! Volage reminds me so much of a yummy orange sherbet, I just want to lick my nails when I’m wearing it. I’m not quite sure when this baby came out, but I’ve not seen too many bottles up for sale anywhere. [...]

I was under two misconceptions about Miami Peach. First that it was a creme. And baby that was a that was a whopper of a misconception as Miami Peach has beautiful gold shimmer. Second that it was hard to find. Now that I’m not quite sure about. I know that it hasn’t been on the [...]

I’ve had the LA Girls Metal Collection waiting to be swatched for awhile. Truth be told, I just about od’d on metal polishes this year. While I like the metal finish, too many companies came out with them earlier this year. But what I didn’t anticipate was this collection actually contained mostly foils, not metallics. [...]
Blossom is probably the sheerest of all the LA Colors I bought. At three coats, you still see visible nail line (VNL) and only get the barest of pink color. Pink Chiffon is a mauve with very obvious shimmer. Although this is a very mainstream color, I found the finished result to be very appealing. [...]
The “vavoom” colors! Foils tend to be somewhat muted in colors. There’s loads of them in pastels, but there aren’t too many darker foils. Sparkling Sherry is one of the most vibrant magenta foils I’ve seen. Two coats and it’s BAM!, In your face color. In a very good way. Fuchsia Flash, although not unique, [...]
Sarong is Lancome’s newest offering. Is it my imagination or are Lancome’s colors becoming more attractive and hip? Sarong is a pinkish coral with loads of gold shimmer. This went on flawlessly in two coats. A perfect summer color. BB Sand is an older Lancome color and I’m not quite sure when it came out. [...]
I will be perfectly honest. I was more interested in getting nail polish with cats for the brush handle than the actual colors themselves. Seriously, how cute is that?!? Peripera is a Korean brand that I would have never come to my attention if it wasn’t for stumbling across Gmarket. Gmarket is a three-prong site [...]
